Cardi B has teamed up with Fashion Nova to help fight coronavirus with a whopping $1 million being handed out to those in need.

The ‘I Like It’ hitmaker has joined forces with the online fashion retailer to donate $1 million to those in need during the coronavirus pandemic, which will be spread out in $1,000 instalments.

Cardi announced the initiative on Instagram, where she claimed she and the brand will be donating $1,000 every hour over the next 42 days.

In a video, she explained: ”You know sometimes you give to charity and you wonder, ‘Is it really going to the people?’ Well we’re gonna make sure it goes to the people.”

And in the caption, she wrote: ”I teamed up with them to help those that have been impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic. Many of you are struggling to pay bills, feed your families, and take care of your overall essential needs.”

To apply for the scheme, people need to submit applications by writing a 250-word personal narrative that explains how the virus has impacted their lives.

Cardi has also insisted she needs all applicants to have an open Instagram account, because she will be checking to make sure people aren’t applying just to ”lend your boyfriend some f***ing money”.

She added: ”PLEASE make sure that your Instagram is public, because I will also personally be looking thru these submitted pages.

”Make sure your Instagram is open because I’m going to make sure that you really do need it. Don’t be lying so you can lend your boyfriend some f***ing money. No, you don’t gotta show us your p****y, but if you wanna DM it to me I don’t motherf***ing mind.”

Whilst in a press release, Fashion Nova founder and CEO Richard Saghian clarified: ”People are struggling to pay rent, buy food, medicine and other essentials for themselves and their families. We all feel compassion and concern for those affected by the coronavirus.”

Popular Tanzanian singer, Diamond Platnumz’s manager, Sallam Sharaf, has tested positive for coronavirus.

Sharif took to his Instagram page to confirm he was tested positive and has been placed under mandatory quarantine.

The number of positive cases of coronavirus in celebrities are on the increasing rate as the likes of Hollywood celebrities; Idris Elba, Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Andrew Matt and Olga Kurylenko have tested positive for the deadly disease.

Sallam is believed to have just returned from Europe where he visited Switzerland, Denmark and France while making preparations for Platnumz shows in Europe, which was later cancelled.

His Instagram post read: “I have received coronavirus test results, and I would like to confirm that it has turned out positive. Currently, I am under mandatory quarantine, and being monitored closely by doctors.

He commended the Tanzanian government for the care so far since he got isolated on Tuesday.

“I would like to thank the Tanzanian Government for the good medical services I am receiving. Since Tuesday, I have been in isolation.

“I am all alone at the ward it is as if I have hired this whole space for myself. I thank the nurses and the general administration for the care they have afforded me since I arrived here two days ago.

“May God protect them, and give them good health. “

Hollywood actor Will Smith – who starred in the post-apocalyptic action movie ‘I Am Legend’ – has joked he feels ”responsible for a lot of the misinformation” surrounding coronavirus.

The 51-year-old actor discussed the pandemic on the latest ‘Red Table Talk’, where he was joined by his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith, their daughter Willow, Will’s son Trey and Jada’s mother Adrienne Banfield-Jones and quipped he felt the current situation reflects one of his own movies.

Before kicking off the show, Will quipped: ”I wanted to do this because in 2008 I made ‘I Am Legend’, and I feel responsible for a lot of the misinformation.”

The Francis Lawrence-directed movie centres on the story of a scientist who is the last human survivor of a plague.

In the film, Will’s character seeks to reverse the effects of the virus by using his own immune blood.

During their ‘Red Table Talk’, Jada reveals she’s keen to develop her understanding of coronavirus.

The 48-year-old actress – who has been married to Will since 1997 – said: ”Just like other families around the world, we are trying to navigate all the information out there about COVID-19.”

Jada also explained why her 21-year-old son Jaden was absent from the discussion.

She said: ”You’ll notice Jaden is not joining us today because he’s being a responsible human and social distancing.

”He’s been doing a lot of travelling and his main concern has been about Gammy [Adrienne], so he has decided to stay indoors and he’s actually following orders.”

Jada has also teased details of the show on her Twitter account.

The Hollywood star wrote on the micro-blogging platform: ”We as a family were able to come around for @redtabletalk to get some questions answered. I hope this episode will help you and your family have discussions about COVID-19 and what it all means during this time as well. Stay healthy and safe [love heart emoji]”
